Betty Blackstone was at one time the oldest woman in the project. She lived to be 103 years old. She told a story of great courage and devotion. She moved by herself to China at age 21 to become a missionary. In her later years she divided her time between a church home in Pasadena and staying with her adult daughter. Betty enjoyed playing the piano and reminiscing about her adventures. Though her physical body was failing at the end, her spirit stayed very much intact.
